DuPont sued for wrongful deaths at Texas chemical plant

A faulty valve is the likely cause of a methyl mercaptan leak that killed four in a La Porte, Texas chemical plant on Saturday, November 15, according to nbcnews.com.

A lawsuit is being brought against American chemical company DuPont on behalf of Jasmine Rae Wise, whose mother Crystle Wise was one of the four people who died in the accident. The Harris County Medical Examiner identified the other victims as Wade Baker and brothers Robert and Gilbert Tisnado. The plant has been has been cited for environmental infractions and “hazardous emissions” in the past. An investigation is pending.
