Leo and Sharon Schmitz filed a personal injury lawsuit last Monday, October 24 against Adacia Chambers. Leo Schmitz had his leg removed as the result of getting hit by a car that crashed into the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade on October 24, 2015 in Stillwater. He and his wife are now suing Chambers, who allegedly caused the crash that killed four people.
According to The Oklahoman, Leo Schmitz is seeking more than $1 million in damages for the incident that caused him to sustain two broken legs, one of which had to be amputated. In addition, he sustained brain damage and other injuries. Sharon Schmitz, in a separate personal injury lawsuit, is asking for more than $75,000 worth of damages for emotional distress damages.
