Management consultant, McKinsey & Co.’s evaluation of the Social Security Administration’s $300 million computer system gave an overall negative review of the software’s efficacy. SSA spokesman, Mark Hinkle said the agency has alerted stakeholders of the report a day after they received the document.
Representatives from McKinsey & Co. led a four-hour meeting about the report with the agency’s steering committee after the official presentation of the document. Hinkle denied allegations that the Social Security Administration intended on concealing the glaring report.
Parts of the report publicized by the House of Representatives committee on oversight and government reform on Wednesday, July 23 were redacted and marked as “confidential.”
