Lawyer gets one year jail time for disability fraud

 In Social Security Disability

Eighty-four-year-old Long Island attorney Raymond Lavallee, who admitted guilt to a single count of fourth-degree conspiracy in a massive Social Security disability scam, was sentenced by the Manhattan Supreme Court to spend one year in jail, the New York Daily News reported on February 27.

Lavallee represented a string of retired policemen and firefighters from the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of the City of New York who made fraudulent Social Security disability benefit claims, resulting many arrests and charges last year.
