Man dies in East Side motorcycle accident

An individual, identified only as a 30-year-old man, lost his life when the motorcycle he was driving collided with another vehicle on Friday, October 30 at around 7:00 p.m. on the East Side in San Antonio, Texas.

According to preliminary investigations from a police report, the motorcyclist was headed south on South Gevers Street when his vehicle collided with another vehicle which was headed west on East Drexel Avenue.

The impact of the collision sent the man flying over the hood of the other vehicle, police investigators said. He sustained massive head trauma and was declared dead at the scene of the accident by the emergency medical responders.

Police officers who responded to the call said the victim was not wearing a motorcycle helmet when the accident occurred. They noted that the flow of traffic in the northbound lane on Gevers stalled as the driver of the other vehicle waited at the stop sign.
