Social Security pays tribute to Hispanic Heritage Month by launching Spanish website

 In Social Security benefits

The Social Security Administration will join the nation in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month between September 15 and October 15 of this year.

Hispanics are definitely a huge part of the history of the United States. They have been essential to the discovery, exploration, and naming of many places, areas, and regions in the country, such as California, San Antonio, Colorado, Texas, Santa Barbara, and Boca Raton, among others.

Hispanics continue to influence the American way of living from the language to the cuisine. Truly, the Hispanic culture is embedded in the very fiber of the American being.

These reasons and more are why the SSA recognizes the need to honor the importance of catering to our Hispanic friends with the launch of Social Security’s Spanish website – www.segurosocial.com. The website is entirely in Spanish. Also, if you call one of the numbers on the hotlines posted on the site, you will find yourself speaking with native Spanish speakers. On the other hand, if you need an interpreter, you can visit wwwsegurosocial.gov/espanol/interpreter.htm to make use of their free interpreter services.
