Social Security programs to expand despite financial questions

 In Social Security Disability

The Social Security Administration has released its 2015 annual report of the federal old-age and survivors insurance and federal disability insurance trust funds. In this report, the agency concluded that instead of shrinking its government aid programs and cutting down on financial assistance to beneficiaries, the agency plans on expanding its programs.

Social Security trustees note that the Social Security Disability Insurance program’s trust fund will have $2.758 trillion come end of 2015.

The report also forecasts that the “annual cost for the OASDI (Old Age, Survivor, and Disability Insurance) program will exceed noninterest income in 2015 and remain higher throughout the remainder of the long-range period”.
