Victims of company car crash in Texas awarded $28.4M
A jury at the 79th Judicial Court of Jim Wells County in Texas awarded $28.4 million to a mother and daughter for a 2010 traffic accident in which the two were seriously injured in a company vehicle, an article on LawyersandSettlements.com stated on August 22.
According to court documents, 40-year-old Angelique Briones and her 70-year-old mother were passengers in a LeFleur Transportation of Texas, Inc., vehicle driven by Delfina Salazar when Salazar entered an intersection at a yellow light, causing the group to be hit by another vehicle. Angelique Briones sustained back injuries while her mother Elida’s neck was injured. Both underwent surgeries for their ailments. The case proved that the company had not adequately trained Salazar in driver safety.
