Woman files salmonella lawsuit against The X in Texas Wood Fired Grill

Dallum County, Texas resident Frances Childers filed a lawsuit against Dalhart-based The X in Texas Wood Fired Grill, LLC, after suffering from a life-threatening bout of salmonella poisoning, the Food Poison Journal reported on February 25.

Childers said she felt ill the day after dining at The X in Texas Wood Fired Grill and for several days afterward suffered from abdominal pain, muscle aches, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. After visiting a health clinic and receiving anti-nausea medicine, her condition only worsened, and her sons brought her to the Dalhart emergency room. She was given three bags of intravenous fluid. Her kidneys were failing, so she was transferred to the BSA Health System in Amarillo where she might have to receive dialysis. Here, she found that she had become a victim of salmonella poisoning.

Childer’s stool sample, which was tested by the Coon Memorial Hospital Lab, came back with a positive reading for salmonella poisoning.
